José Paulo dos Santos (Brazil) started dancing as a tap dancer at « Projeto Rithmus », a social project in his hometown Araraquara (São Paulo). He received a scholarship to study ballet, contemporary and street dance at The Dance Center Gilsamara Moura in Araraquara. He started his professional career when he joined Cia Shuffle Trips. He was then invited to IPL – International Laboratory Performance – in Peru to work with artists from South America and Europe under the direction of Khosro Adibi (Iran-Holland). In 2008 he came to Brussels to study at P.A.R.T.S. After graduating, he worked for the theater director Mokhallad Rasem (Iraq-Belgium), for the P.A.R.T.S.-revival of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker’s Zeitung, for Action Scénique/Claire Croizé (France/Belgium) and for Noé Soulier (France). José Paulo joined ROSAS in 2015 and has been working full time for the company since then.
